Tournament Format

  • 2-person scramble: Both players hit a shot, the team selects the preferred shot, and both players play from that location.
  • Once a shot is selected, the ball may be placed within one club length, no closer to the hole, without changing the terrain.
  • On the putting green, the ball may be placed within one putter-head length.
  • Teams may switch golf balls at any point during a hole.
  • To help maintain the pace of play, the maximum score on any hole is bogey (par + 1).

Tee Assignments

  • Players averaging 84 or lower over their previous three rounds play from the Blue tees.
  • Players with an average score of 85 or higher over their previous three rounds play from the Gold tees.
  • Players 55 and older play from the Gold tees.
  • Ladies and players 13 and under play from the Red forward tees.
  • Additional tee adjustments may apply for junior and ladies players on certain shorter par 5s.

Three Ways to Win

Every National Scramble Tour event features three prize pools, giving teams multiple opportunities to take home a prize.

1. Team Placement

Teams compete for overall tournament placement, with payouts based on the size of the field. The larger the field, the more finishing positions are paid.

2. Day Games

Additional prizes are available throughout the round, including contests such as:

  • Closest to the pin on par 3s
  • Longest putt on designated holes
  • Longest drive

These contests give players another chance to win even if they aren't in contention for the overall team title.

3. Skins

Players can participate in an optional $20-per-player skins game. The team with the lowest score on a hole wins the skin, creating an additional competition throughout the round.

Placement and skins winnings are awarded as National Scramble Tour store credit, which can be redeemed for available prizes, future tournament entries, merchandise, or other eligible options.

Pace of Play & Rangefinder Use

The National Scramble Tour encourages players to keep the tournament moving while still enjoying the competition.

  • GPS devices and laser rangefinders, including slope, are allowed.
  • Ball searches are limited to 2 minutes.
  • Teams should remain within one hole of the group ahead whenever possible.
  • Players are expected to help their group maintain a consistent pace of play.

Scorecards & Results

Each team is responsible for accurately recording scores and verifying them before leaving the course.

After finishing the round:

  1. Return to the clubhouse promptly.
  2. Verify hole-by-hole scores with your playing partners.
  3. Total the final score.
  4. Make sure scorecards are signed and properly submitted.
  5. Official results are posted on this website following the event.
